A #MACBOOK ROOF FOR AN NEW #APPLE STORE IN #CHICAGO

Apple fans, get your cameras ready. Apple's new Chicago store is currently under construction and will come equipped with its very own MacBook roof. So even if you don't buy a Mac, you can at least take selfies under one.
Yesterday, the construction crew placed Apple's iconic logo in the middle of the overhead silver structure before rolling it up just an hour later. That short time, however, was all it took to reveal the eye-grabbing laptop roof, which, as reported by DNA Chicago, wasn't detailed in the original plan outline provided in 2015.
The 20,000-square-foot store, designed by London's Foster+Partners, will essentially be a giant glass box that extends all the way up to the Chicago River. The thin walls and slim ceiling are described as an effort to blur the boundaries between what's perceived to be inside and outside of the shop.
"We wanted the building to be as light and transparent as possible," Foster+Partners partner James McGrath told the Chicago Tribune.
Apple has yet to reveal the opening date for the store.

#SnapMaps from #Snapchat

Snapchat has announced a new location-sharing feature that shows you where your friends are. Dubbed as Snap Maps, the feature will let users share their locations with each other.
When you share your current location it will show up on a map when your friends open Snapchat. This means your location updates whenever you use the app but you can always choose not to share your location. If your friends are sharing their location with you, their Actionmoji will appear on the Map. Actionmojis only update when you open Snapchat. To access the Snap Map, you will have to pinch your home screen to zoom in.

As soon as users enter “Ghost Mode” in the app, Snapchat will stop collecting precise location data. Snapchat has been loosing its game to Instagram Stories who now has 250 million daily active users. Snap Map should be rolling out to all users shortly via an update to the mobile app on Android and iOS.

#Google #reCAPTCHA

Google has introduced reCAPTCHA Android API that uses an advanced risk analysis engine to protect apps from spam and other abusive actions such as bots. If the service suspects that the user interacting with the app might be a bot instead of a human, it serves a CAPTCHA that a human must solve before the app can continue executing.

Google first introduced reCAPTCHA ten years ago, and the company says that more than a billion users have benefited from reCAPTCHA.
Google says that its research recently showed that today’s Artificial Intelligence technology can solve even the most difficult variant of distorted text at 99.8% accuracy. Thus distorted text, on its own, is no longer a dependable test. To counter this, last year it introduced Advanced Risk Analysis backend for reCAPTCHA that actively considers a user’s entire engagement with the CAPTCHA—before, during, and after—to determine whether that user is a human. This enables us to rely less on typing distorted text and, in turn, offer a better experience for users.
reCAPTCHA Android API is included with Google SafetyNet, which provides services like device attestation and safe browsing to protect mobile apps.

You can check out Google Developers site if you want to integrate reCAPTCHA into your Android app. The reCAPTCHA  API will soon be available for iOS.
